Tenants with Wind and Flood Damage from recent UK Storms

Comments on the current storms affecting the UK from Ian Robertson, director of Propertyserve UK, which supports Propertyserve commercial landlords/managing agents that own or manage properties throughout the UK.

Winds reaching upwards of 90 mph and hundreds of flood alerts meant that Propertyserve’s properties and tenants have been at real risk from the elements.

FM’s and surveyors up and down the country with wind and flood damage are trying to get hold of contractors and tenants in an effort to make safe their properties. There is an element of panic which encourages risks being taken with H&S procedure.

Having a helpdesk that understands your business, properties and tenants can handle situations 24/7 efficiently and effectively even if the property manager can’t be reached.

Between December 25th and Jan 1st Propertyserve’s helpdesk received 674 calls from its client’s properties – a 500 per cent increase on last year.

All jobs were managed in a controlled manor, and all contractors sent to from site had already gone through a three tiered health and safety process.

Its clients were able to rest and recuperate, safe in the knowledge that should anything occur at any of their sites, Propertyserve would be able to get a contractor there to deal with the situation.
